BRM AERO, the manufacturer of Bristell Aircraft, announced that the two-seat Bristell B23 has obtained Type Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under Part 23 regulations. This achievement complements the aircraft's existing EASA CS-23 certification and enhances Bristell's standing in global aviation markets.

This certification milestone underscores Bristell's dedication to adhering to the most rigorous aviation standards globally. The B23 platform is now certified by both leading international aviation authorities. Since 2009, Bristell has delivered over 1,100 aircraft across four continents, consistently demonstrating proven performance in commercial training operations worldwide.

"This FAA certification represents a significant milestone in our global expansion strategy," said Martin Bříštěla, CEO and Co-founder of Bristell Aircraft. "Having both EASA and FAA approvals validates our engineering excellence and opens new opportunities for flight schools, aviation clubs, and private pilots across international markets. We will continue pursuing FAA certification for additional B23 variants to offer our customers the widest possible range of options."

The company intends to extend certification across its entire B23 lineup, encompassing the Rotax 912iS, 915iS, 916iS, and IFR variants. This initiative aims to offer comprehensive solutions to meet a wide range of aviation requirements, from basic training to advanced cross-country flying.

The Bristell B23 serves as a contemporary training and touring platform, integrating traditional all-metal construction with cutting-edge technology. It is equipped with a Garmin glass cockpit as standard and is powered by advanced engines from the Austrian manufacturer Rotax. This combination offers a new generation of certified aircraft, designed for both comfortable cross-country travel and professional use in flight schools globally.

Key specifications include a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 750 kg, a useful load of 300 kg, and the widest cockpit in its class – 130 cm - ensuring exceptional comfort for pilots and passengers during long flights.

Bristell is enhancing its international presence through a network of over 30 dealers worldwide, supported by 90% in-house manufacturing. This approach ensures consistent quality and swift availability of parts. The company's global parts dispatch system, operational 24 hours a day, minimises aircraft downtime for operators in all markets. BRM Aero South Africa's home base is Plettenberg Bay Airport. Demo aircraft and test flights are available.
