During the Paris Air Show, Embraer marked a significant milestone in the history of the A-29 Super Tucano, which has been selected by 22 air forces globally. The active aircraft fleet has reached 600,000 flight hours.

“It is a privilege to share this key achievement in the successful trajectory of the leading aircraft in its category. The A-29 Super Tucano is the only light attack, armed reconnaissance, and advanced training turboprop aircraft in production, with proven performance in combat around the world,” says Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defence & Security.

For air forces seeking versatile, combat-proven, and cost-effective aircraft, the A-29 Super Tucano emerges as the ideal choice. The A-29 is equipped to execute a wide range of missions, including Advanced Pilot Training, Close Air Support (CAS), Air Patrol, Air Interdiction, Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Training, Armed Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Border Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Air Escort.

Portugal has recently acquired the A-29N Super Tucano, a variant compatible with NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) operations, showcasing the platform's versatility and adaptability. The aircraft is equipped with advanced avionics, specialised communication systems, and enhanced capabilities, ensuring it meets NATO's most stringent requirements.

The A-29 Super Tucano is recognised as the premier multi-mission aircraft in its category, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for precise target identification, advanced weaponry, and a comprehensive communications suite. Its capabilities are enhanced by sophisticated human-machine interface (HMI) avionics systems, built into a robust airframe capable of operating from unpaved runways in difficult environments with limited infrastructure. Moreover, the aircraft is engineered for low maintenance requirements, ensuring high reliability, availability, and structural integrity, all while keeping life cycle costs low.
