Bell Celebrates 700th Bell 505 Delivery at Farnborough Airshow

Bell has reached another significant production milestone, announcing the delivery of the 700th Bell 505 helicopter during the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow. The landmark aircraft has been delivered to a private VIP operator, underscoring the Bell 505's growing popularity in the executive and corporate aviation market.

The achievement comes less than a decade after the Bell 505 entered service in 2017, highlighting the strong global demand for the light single-engine helicopter across a wide range of civil and military applications.

Speaking at Farnborough, Robin Wendling, Managing Director for Europe at Bell, said the milestone reflects the confidence operators continue to place in the aircraft. "Our team is honoured to celebrate this Bell 505 milestone here at the Farnborough International Airshow. The Bell 505 has proven itself as an exceptional multi-mission helicopter, and we continue to see operators selecting it for a diverse range of missions. We are delighted to welcome our newest Bell 505 operator while celebrating the growing global community of Bell customers."

Since entering service, the Bell 505 has accumulated more than 390,000 flight hours and is now operating in over 55 countries across six continents. The aircraft has established itself as one of Bell's most versatile products, finding success in corporate transport, flight training, utility operations, law enforcement and emergency services.

The helicopter combines the proven reliability of the Bell 206L-4's rotor and drivetrain with a modern Garmin G1000H NXi integrated glass cockpit, providing pilots with advanced situational awareness while reducing workload. Bell's worldwide support network, including maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities and simulator-based training, has also contributed significantly to the aircraft's international success.

While the latest milestone aircraft joins the VIP market, the Bell 505 has become equally important in military aviation. Several nations have selected the type as their primary helicopter trainer, including Jordan, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Albania, Montenegro, Indonesia, Iraq and South Korea.

Its spacious cabin, excellent visibility and forgiving flight characteristics make it particularly well-suited for ab initio and advanced helicopter instruction. The stadium-style seating allows instructors and students to clearly observe cockpit procedures, while the expansive glazing provides outstanding external visibility, earning the Bell 505 a reputation as a "flying classroom."

The delivery of the 700th aircraft to a VIP customer also reflects growing demand from the business aviation sector. Operators are increasingly seeking helicopters that combine low operating costs with modern avionics, passenger comfort and reliability, qualities that have helped position the Bell 505 as an attractive option for private owners and corporate flight departments.
