Turkish Airlines, the national airline of Türkiye, has established a comprehensive codeshare agreement with Airlink to expand its footprint across the African continent. This agreement, which will take effect on August 1, 2025, was formalised during a ceremony at Airlink's Head Office in Johannesburg, attended by senior executives from both companies.

This strategic alliance will significantly expand travel options for passengers by integrating Turkish Airlines' extensive global network with Airlink’s comprehensive domestic and regional routes within South Africa and its neighbouring regions. The partnership enables seamless multi-sector travel under a single ticket, offering enhanced convenience and flexibility for both international and regional travellers.

Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines will designate its "TK" flight code to flights operated by Airlink. This will facilitate seamless connections from Turkish Airlines' services in Cape Town and Johannesburg to various destinations across South Africa and the surrounding region.

Levent Konukcu, Chief Investment & Strategy Officer at Turkish Airlines, remarked, “We place great importance on this cooperation with Airlink to enhance our connectivity in South Africa and the region. Our goal is to strengthen our partnership to maximise travel opportunities for our guests. We believe this collaboration will not only provide commercial benefits to both airlines but also enhance cultural and tourism relations between the two nations.”

Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht commented, “This partnership with Turkish Airlines offers a significant opportunity to deepen the relationship between the two airlines. The agreement further endorses Airlink’s brand, while providing our customers with more convenient travel options, world-class service, and easier access to destinations across our extensive combined route networks.”

This collaboration will enable Turkish Airlines to advance its strategic growth in Africa and reinforce its regional presence, while offering enhanced travel options for its guests.
