Eagle Air, situated in the main terminal at Wonderboom Airport, hosted a highly successful open day on Saturday, 30 September. Despite coinciding with the public school holiday, around ninety people attended.

Eagle Air is among the few Flight Schools offering regular Cross Country flyaways for PPL holders with night ratings. During these flights, an Instructor serves as a Safety Pilot to assist the pilots as they aim to cover all nine provinces in four or five days, weather permitting.

This venture has generated significant interest, so much so that during the most recent fly-away, they had to turn students away due to limited space. These fly-aways are drawing many students from other flight schools who are eager to gain valuable experience by flying to unfamiliar destinations, thus exposing them to different conditions.

Eagle Air recently participated in the Rural 2 Rural Initiative Career Expo in Limpopo and the Conference Agenda Aviation Festival at the Sandton Convention Centre. Additionally, they have initiated collaborations with the Global Institute of Aviation and Fly Zulu Aviation.

The training team includes three Grade 2 and six Grade 3 instructors with over 7,000 hours of experience, ensuring they can meet all training requirements. They provide a range of facilities, such as an advanced simulator with a variety of aircraft options for training, offering extensive flight experiences. State-of-the-art briefing rooms are also available, tailored to meet the individual needs of clients. The training courses offered include Private Pilot’s Licence, Night Rating, hour building, Single and Multi-Engine Instrument Ratings, Instructor courses, and Commercial Pilot’s Licence for fixed-wing, helicopters, and turbines.
